Trip to the semi-desert slopes of the Gareji Ridge. Walk through the monastery complex upon arrival. 14 monastic ensembles were built here in total: built at different times - David Lavra, Mohatuli, Tsamebuli, Natlis-Mtzemeli, Dodos Rka and others. A terraced courtyard was built at David's Lavra, new cells, a refectory and a church were built in the XI century. A pool, canals and tanks where built after. The greatest prosperity David Gareji reaches in the XI-XIII centuries. Walk to the monastery of Udabno, near which you can enjoy a spacious view of Azerbaijan from the Georgian side. In Udabno there are magnificent frescoes, reflecting religious subjects, made in a special technique and color.
